Soma 2010

Soma was the second region that we visited on our regional development trip up country. Soma is a rural area and the sports facilities are situated on the outside of the town in a field. The youth and sports co-ordinator in Soma was very active in finding new members and it was down to his enthusiasm that we were able to form a new Wheelchair Basketball team and regional Para-lympic committee. We were able to donate 10 wheelchairs and were able to give a training session on how to service the wheelchairs and a coaching session on how to build their regional team and teach them how to play wheelchair basketball. These Wheelchairs are so important for people in these rural areas to get them out of their house and taking part in their community activities.
